The GOAT of Twin Cities eateries, Estelle is our comfort spot. Their food is a wonderful cuisine of Portuguese descent but it will appeal to anyone who just likes food. Their menu is seasonal and constantly rotating, so it's difficult to make a recommendation. You can try out Jake's method of restauranting - ask the waiter what they like best. Just make sure you get dessert.
A wonderful little ramen spot. With an ambience that feels like you're going on an adventure across the railways (the building is an old train boxcar), we've never been disappointed by a visit here. Start the evening with a shot of shōchū for the Jake & Cass authentic experience. The Mrs. recommends you get the salted duck, it's special.
Italian food deserves to be placed on a pedestal if you're eating at La Grolla. They do the staples you know and love to perfection and the restaurant is Grandma Neerland approved!
An incredible ambience at this restaurant, highly recommended if you're going with a larger group. In somewhat common fashion, Jake made a bad call on his dish but the Eggs & Lobster Bruschetta is phenomenal (beware: it's a big portion).
An excellent spot if you're looking for a foodie experience, Tongue in Cheek offers some very fun "teasers": - Bacon & Egg w/ avocado, hot jam and (more) bacon - East Fried Pride w/ pork belly, stonefruit and peanuts - The Blues w/ blueberry, blue cheese and peanuts - Sgt. Pepper w/ Shishito peppers, feta and jerk sauce - Shroomin w/ shiitake custard (it's as weird as it sounds, but worth trying), enoki and agave Their cocktail flight is also exceptional.
The #1 patio in the Twin Cities, this is an excellent spot if you're looking for dinner and some drinks afterward. Jaywalk across the street to Handsome Hog, where you can sip some bourbon and eat creamy mac n cheese to your heart's content.
If you've ever heard of "Chef" featuring Jon Favreau, Victor's 1959 is great at reminding you that you need to either watch it for the first time or revisit it once again. The Cuban sandwiches here are to die for.
A personal favorite of Jake's, they do amazing things with whiskey. The groom recommends a scotch egg, fish and chips, and whatever the cocktail with whip cream and coconut is that they took off the menu...maybe it had something to do with France? You'll have to ask if they know what this is, if not...I'm sorry you don't get to experience this.
