How We Met

Jacob Clark gracefully "slid into" my DM's on December 16, 2015 and we went on our first date December 22nd. Basically a blind date, as we had never met or seen each other in person, only texted and saw each other's social media. I had never been so nervous in my entire life. I sat on the couch and literally stared at my phone, my heart fluttering every time the dogs would bark because I thought it was him. It was 75 degrees outside so my nervous sweat multiplied when he showed up to get me. And yes, he drove all the way to Odenville to pick me up and actually continued to do that for the first 2 weeks we dated. So he picks me up and the first comment he makes is, "Your country accent is pretty cute." I knew he was a winner when he called it cute of all things. We went and saw a movie, didn't even think about eating as we were both too nervous. After our movie he takes me home, where we stand in my front yard for 2 hours talking about everything we could possibly think of. It was so natural. Then he not only kisses me once but 3 times!!!! WHAT!!!! Knowing Jacob as well as I do now, I'm very shocked he did that, lol. After picking my jaw up off the floor, we finally part ways and it's now 2 AM. I immediately called my best friend Meagan and told her with the most confidence ever that this is the guy I was gonna marry.

The Proposal

The man of my dreams asked me to marry him on March 8, 2019 at the place we love most. It was the day we got to Disney World and we had a nice dinner planned at Disney Springs. It's Friday evening and we're all getting ready and Jake tells me to be ready at 6 so we can go look at the pool and get the car and pick everybody up at 6:30. I definitely did not want to walk down to the pool or all the way to the car in my wedges and made that obvious by complaining. He talked me into it though so down to the pool we went. While walking down there I kept thinking of what else I could be doing at that time, like resting my feet or watching tv or really anything but walking around the freaking pool. Next to where you head to the pool is a set of stairs that had rose petals going up it and the song Marry Me by Train is playing. I start to pull Jacob back, telling him, "No wait, we're gonna ruin someone's cute date they had planned out." At the same time, I was a little envious of whatever girl is about to get this sweet and thought out date. Me being my stubborn self, he had to all but drag me up the stairs. Even by now I had no clue as to what was going on. Jacob walks me over to just before the little bridge and the next thing I know he's telling me how much he loves me and how much the Lord has blessed us and our relationship. It has finally hit me what is happening. Immediately the waterfall of tears start down my face. Full blown ugly cry. By now, Jacob is on one knee asking me the one question I'd been waiting hear, "Will you marry me". I'm not even sure if I actually said yes because all I wanted to do was kiss his face. In that moment all I could do was thank the Lord for the love of my life and the forever we were starting. And of course, Jacob did not forget to include the people who mean the most to me. My mom, dad, and brother were all waiting inside with his family. I was completely surprised. It was the best day of my life.
