Things To Do

Aside from DC's main attractions, here are some of our favorite places to visit and restaurants/bars that we love.

National Portrait Gallery

8th St NW & G St NW, Washington, DC 20001

We could spend hours in here! In addition to seeing the president's portraits, there is a beautiful indoor space with a cafe. Entry is free.

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

Close to our home and where we have been living for the last four years, Union Market is a food hall in the area and close by there are tons of other shops and restaurants.

Georgetown

3303 Water St NW, Washington, DC 20007

A beautiful part of the city along the Potomac River with shopping, food, cute houses, and Georgetown University.

Pluma by Bluebird Bakery

391 Morse Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

This coffee shop has the BEST croissants and pastries.

Queen’s English

3410 11th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20010

Looking for a nice dinner spot? We've celebrated a number of special occasions here and time and time again, this remains one of our favorite restaurants in the city.

Old Ebbitt Grill

675 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005

When DC comes to mind, this is a quintessential spot and is located right next to the White House.

Jack Rose Dining Saloon

2007 18th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

For whiskey lovers...but they also have other great cocktails.

Service Bar DC

926-928 U Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

One of the best cocktail bars in the city and recognized as one of the best 50 bars in the world.

Solly's

1942 11th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

A little grimy but Jacob loves it here and it's the official DC Dolphins bar.
