Anabel: We met in February 2016 at the BSM (Baptist Student Ministry) at UTEP. Jake intimidated me with all his questions. Jake: Veni, Vidi, Vici.
Anabel: Long story short, we started liking each other in August 2016, but then I left for England in January 2017 and didn't come back till the summer (Jake was in Canada that summer). During that time we decided not to talk, and when we came back I friend-zoned Jake (whooops). Then we started working together (awkwardly) and then we started talking again in the Spring of 2018... then that fall we started dating and the rest is history. Jake: She liked me. She didn’t like me so much. She loves me.
Anabel: I thought Jake was out of town working. My girlfriends and I were gonna have a photoshoot downtown and then grab some dinner (they tricked me into dressing up). When we got to the restaurant, all the workers were being weird and awkward, but I was still pretty oblivious as to what was going on. One of my friends suggested that we go to the rooftop, but me being awkward was bent on staying downstairs. Finally, they convinced me that we should go upstairs and when I opened the door, Jake was standing there. Our song was playing and there was a beautiful flower pedal runway that led to a white canopy. Our pictures were hung up on the walls; everything looked so perfect! We talked for a bit (I was shocked he was in town) and then he started giving his very sweet romantic speech. He said some words in English. He said some words in Spanish. I cried. He asked me if I wanted to marry him, I said yes, and then he replied, “Are you sure?” And I said, “YES!” Jake: I asked Anabel to marry me. She said “yes”. Here you are
