Jake and I met at a Christian organization at the UCF campus called RUF. We both attended the organization for over 6 months and hadn't ever really spoken. There was a retreat in Panama City for RUF over the summer for a week and that's where we officially met and began talking. He then cleverly acquired my number through texting me a referral for $10 off of DoorDash. We spent the summer apart in our home towns but continued texting and facetiming. In August of 2018 when we came back for fall semester to UCF, he asked me out formally and we started dating. Three years later, here we are!
Once I knew she was the one, I began planning. Two days after asking her dad for her hand, I bought the ring. I was trying to figure out how to make it special and memorable, and once I knew the direction I wanted to go, I hired a guitarist and a photographer and told them the plan. I took her out for a lunch date in Winter Park and then after lunch we went for a stroll through the park and happened upon a "random" street performer. He started playing our song and midway through he paused and that's when I popped the question. I've never seen her so happy. After our sweet moment, I told her to turn around and her parents and our friends were all there to celebrate with us.
