Our story starts like all good love stories- with tying chicken wire on a robot in a machine shop. In 2018, (Jacob's sophomore year and Abbey's freshman year), we both continued our high school love of robotics and joined the Sooner Rover Team where we spent the next 3 years building a Mars rover analog, lots of friendships, and most importantly, a relationship. After two months of trying to get Abbey to learn his name and lots of time spent repairing the robot's wheels, Jacob finally asked her to a fine dining experience of Quizno's in the Union Courtyard, and the rest is history.

After church on April 30, 2023, Jacob asked Abbey to go for a walk starting at the very south end of campus where church was. From there, we walked past all of our campus spots- where we had our first date, where Jacob asked Abbey to be his girlfriend, the library where he picked her up from studying countless times, and finally up to the Spoonholder. Sooner tradition says that if you kiss someone in the Spoonholder, you're destined to get married, and Jacob fulfilled that tradition in the sweetest moment with just the two of us.

We are so excited to have you join us for the ceremony at St. Paul's United Methodist Church followed by a restaurant reception with board games, dinner, trivia, and s'mores with the people we love the most!
