We were two people who had almost given up on love until we met on Bumble last summer. We matched within a couple of hours and were each others' first date where we met for coffee. Conversation flowed easily and a second date was inevitable. Then a third, then a fourth ... We bonded over Tacos, Scrabble, Baseball, and Beer. She's Jewish, He's not. She's way more into sports than he is (especially college basketball). He's way nerdier than she is, but we make it work! We are adventurous introverts who love being surrounded by friends but also love afternoons on the couch with a good book.
We would have been engaged at 6 months. The plan was to propose over New Years' in Asheville. But, a few weeks before that, Rebecca broke her wrist ice skating. And of course you can't take engagement ring photos with a cast on your hand! Jacob had a backup plan... on our 7 month-iversary we had dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant. It was chilly but Jacob insisted on walking. We walked toward First Ward Park and Jacob suggested we pull off over to a quiet fountain. Before I realized what was happening, Jacob was saying, "These 7 months have been amazing, why don't we do this the rest of our lives?" as he got on one knee and showed me the ring. I said yes!
We cannot wait to celebrate with you on our special day. Along with celebrating us we want to celebrate our City, Rebecca's hometown and our chosen home, Charlotte, NC. We hope that those of you who do not have the privilege to live here take the chance to explore our home and all the wonderful things it has to offer.
