After a few brief chats in their ward, Dayna reached out to Jacob on Instagram, and their story truly began. After some fun back-and-forth, Jacob asked for Dayna’s phone number, suggesting they could be “ward friends.” That same day, he invited her on a date to Joey’s in Provo, Utah, on February 13, 2024. It wasn’t just any first date—Dayna had recently undergone LASIK, and the procedure left her eyes very red. She thoughtfully suggested Joey’s for its dim lighting, hoping to keep things comfortable. Despite the circumstances, the evening was perfect, and they instantly connected. From there, their relationship grew as they spent more time together. Being in the same ward and living close to each other made it easy to build a strong relationship, which quickly blossomed into something much more. Their journey together has been full of meaningful experiences. One of the highlights was a service trip to Tijuana, Mexico, with A Child’s Hope Foundation, where they bonded over a shared passion for helping children. They also made trips to Goodyear, Arizona, and St. George, Utah, to meet each other’s families, blending their lives together in joyful and meaningful ways. Along the way, they discovered many shared interests. They love exploring tasty food spots, focusing on healthy living, and stocking protein powder or clean living products together. Whether at the gym, babysitting nieces and nephews, attending cousins’ games, or walking Jacob’s turtle, Sunshine, they’ve found happiness in life’s simple, everyday moments. Jacob and Dayna are also beyond excited to travel together and explore new places. From romantic getaways to adventurous trips, they have a shared dream of visiting some bucket-list destinations. Travel has always been a big part of their relationship, and they look forward to creating memories in new cities, tasting local cuisines, and soaking in the beauty of the world together. Faith has played a central role in their relationship. From visiting the temple to supporting each other through life’s challenges, Jacob and Dayna have seen God’s hand in their journey.
