Jacie and Trent met at the age of three, when both were enrolled at Jenny Heart Preschool (across the street from where the real love story begins). There is video evidence of them singing Christmas songs at the annual Christmas show. Thirteen years later, Jacie and Trent shared a friend group and were in the same Algebra 2 class. Jacie pursued Trent throughout the year with her poor attempt at flirting. Trent watched as she epically failed at being discreet about the crush she had. At the end of their junior year, Trent finally asked her out. They dated their senior year of high school, but ended things after they graduated because both were heading off to different schools on different sides of the country. BOOOOO!!!! Some unfortunate circumstances brought the two together again, when two of their mutual friends passed away a year apart from one another. At the funerals, both were awkward around the other but it opened a door for them to now communicate. When the pandemic hit, Jacie and Trent found their way into a budding friendship. Trent would like to note that he encouraged Jacie to keep Wrigley, whom she had just adopted during this time. With both of them in similar industries, they found themselves facing some challenges. Jacie was furloughed and decided to move back to SoCal, which would be the smartest choice she ever made. Jacie and Trent went to lunch together and spent almost four hours talking and catching up. Jacie would like to note that she told her mother (and Amber) that she was going to marry Trent after that lunch. A couple weeks later, the two started dating again and all that was left was to make sure Ciri and Wrigley got along. Four years later, Trent and Jacie now live in Irvine where it all started, with their two dogs who adore each other.

Trent got down on one knee on Christmas Day 2024. His original plan was to propose in Dana Point after dinner with friends, however, Jacie had the flu and those plans quickly changed. Jacie and Trent hosted Trent's parents and sister for Christmas Morning Breakfast, where after Jacie opened the last present, another one awaited her. Trent asked her on one knee, and the whole proposal was caught on their Furbo. She said yes! finally!
