Staying at the Castle

Ristonchi is a beautifully restored 1,000-year-old medieval castle surrounded by olive groves, forest, and the Tuscan countryside. Staying here is a unique experience that feels very different from a traditional hotel. It is intimate, historic, and full of character, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in rural Tuscany. The rooms are furnished in a traditional Tuscan style, and because of the castle’s historic nature, each room and bathroom is unique in layout and design. All guest rooms include fresh linens, towels, pillows, blankets, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. An iron and steamer station is also available on-site. Please note that daily housekeeping is not included, as this is a private wedding retreat experience rather than a traditional hotel stay. The castle has heating and fans. While there is no air conditioning, the thick stone walls and mountain elevation keep temperatures comfortable, especially at night. Guests also have access to a natural spring-water pool during their stay. On-site amenities include a bar and small shop offering coffee, drinks, smoothies, gelato, and local products such as olive oil and honey. Because the castle is located in a peaceful countryside setting, we recommend bringing any personal essentials, medications, or specialty items you may need for the weekend.

Flight

Flights

The closest airports are Florence (FLR) and Pisa (PSA). Florence is the most convenient airport for ground transportation to the castle. Pisa is also a common and accessible option, though guests traveling through Pisa will need to arrange their own transport to Florence or directly to the area.

Roundtrip transportation will be provided between Florence Airport and Castello di Ristonchi. We will arrange shuttle buses to transport guests to and from the castle at scheduled times. Final transportation timing will be shared closer to the wedding.
