YES! Please do NOT ignore this step. Before traveling to the UK, you must apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) for any tourism and short visits. An ETA costs £16 (roughly $20/€20). You can read more about the ETA here: www.gov.uk/eta To get started with your application, head here: www.gov.uk/eta/apply You can either apply online OR through the UK ETA app. You will need a photo of your passport and of your face.
You got it. Here's the breakdown: Monday - Thursday AM (9/21 - 9/24): Edinburgh; we're staying in a bed and breakfast called Ard-Na-Said. Thursday (9/24): Group travel day to the Oban area (transportation provided) Friday (9/25): Wedding (transportation provided) Saturday (9/26): Group travel day to Edinburgh (transportation provided). We will be arriving back in the city around 6pm, in case anyone would like to plan a flight for later that night.
Nope! Most events are entirely optional. You tell us what you would like to be included in, and we'll purchase tickets for any group excursions in advance. The only events we ask you to be a part of are the group tour (9/24 and 9/26 travel days) and the big day on 9/25.
Think autumn cocktail attire with layers. The average temperatures in September are 8-15°C (46-59°F) with cooler nights. Our wedding venue has already warned us to expect all four seasons in one day. Ladies, please make sure your shoes do NOT have a pointed heel, in consideration of our venue's floors. Block heels, wedges, and flats are all okay. If you have any questions, just reach out to Jaclyn.
Yes! On the day of the wedding, we will have transportation provided to pick you up at your hotel for the ceremony, and then return you at the end of the night.
Everyone staying in Ard-Na-Said owes a flat fee of $350 (per person) for the three nights. For the accommodations near the hotel, please chat directly with Jaclyn or Juan to confirm what you owe for your room.
Once we return to the city from our private tour, it's up to you what you do! Some guests may have late flights that night, and others may be staying in Edinburgh for another night or two. We are staying in Motel One Edinburgh-Princes, which has affordable hotel rooms near the town center. They also have another location, Motel One Edinburgh-Royal Mile. If you need hotel recommendations, just let us know. We advise booking soon, as it is a weeknight and many popular hotels have a 2-night minimum booking.
No. It already means so much to us both that you are coming, and we don't expect any gifts. Your presence is your present. Just enjoy this week of celebrating, and treat us to a round of drinks or Venmo us a little extra for our honeymoon, if you feel so inclined.
Sadly, no. Romeo will be staying in the States with his grandparents and sends his regards. He will be there with us in spirit.
