Our Story
Where our Story Began
June 2016
In June 2016, Isaac and his older brother Abe began attending my church on Wednesday nights for Youth Group. IMMEDIATELY I began quickly chasing after Isaac...No.... literally. I began chasing after Isaac because we were playing capture the flag for Youth group and he was on the opposing team trying to steal my flag. However, I had taken my shoes off since I had flip flops on and Isaac proceeded to have me chase him down across the gravel parking lot so I could ensure he didn't get my flag. This is the first memory I can remember about meeting Mr. Isaac at age 16.
Getting to Know Each Other
2016-2017
Slowly we began to become acquainted with one another. We both enjoyed kicking the soccer ball together at Youth Group. In fact Isaac claims that one of the first things I ever said to him was "Do you play soccer?" We began to discover some common interests we had such as Star Wars and Marvel Super heroes. I started to become more and more excited to see Isaac at Youth Group. I attended a public school and Isaac was home schooled. This being said, Wednesday nights were basically the only time we would see each other during the week. Unfortunately, as I began to develop feelings for Isaac, I became more nervous and awkward whenever he was around. Some nights I would completely avoid him because I was so nervous I might say something dumb or embarrass myself.
The Relationship Begins
August 6, 2017
The summer of 2017 Isaac and I began talking and hanging out more. On August 5th I went along with Isaac's family to watch him and his brothers compete in a softball tournament. That night when we got back to his house we decided to watch a movie. We ended up watching Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. At the end of the night I remember having Isaac walk me to my car and in that moment I decided I was tired of guessing and I was ready to simply straight up tell Isaac how I felt. I remember being very nervous about how he would react and scared that if he didn't feel the same way I would ruin our friendship. Well turns out he admitted that he had the same feelings towards me and I will always remember how joyful I felt in that moment. This was basically the starting of our relationship.
The Engagement
January 25, 2020
For the next 2 and 1/2 years Isaac and I continued to grow in our relationship. Then on January 25, 2020 he proposed. This is the paraphrased story of our engagement. After I got off work we decided to go on a date night at Applebee's. When we got there it was very busy so we decided to come back in an hour. Isaac suggested we go walk down on the frozen lake. So we drove to the lake and began walking around on the ice. We threw a few snowballs at each other and looked at the beautiful starry sky. I was looking up at the sky talking to Isaac about the stars and when I looked back down he was on one knee and said "Will you marry me?" I was very surprised and so very excited to say nonetheless. Afterwards we went back to Applebee's to celebrate. That is our super paraphrased love story :)
