Andrew and Jaclyn’s story began back in 2015 in San Jose, California at Andrew’s birthday party. “Tengo la Camisa Negra” by Colombian singer, Juanes, came on Andrew’s playlist, and Jaclyn started talking about how she was trying to go to see his concert that summer. Andrew offered to go to the concert with Jaclyn, they wore matching shirts with a pun of the song, and the rest is history. Over the next five years Andrew and Jaclyn watched countless hours of college football, hiked the west coast including Half Dome, and skied Colorado’s Rockies. In November 2020, Jaclyn took Andrew up to Fort Collins to look at a dog for adoption. They fell in love with Rafa and took him home three days later. Rafa is perfect, but he added a challenge to Andrew’s plan to propose that weekend. Andrew had planned a hike in El Dorado State Park, but Rafa couldn’t handle a long hike yet. Andrew convinced Jaclyn it was still good to take Rafa to the park, and they would do a short hike. On their way back, they crossed a bridge where Andrew got down on one knee and asked Jaclyn to marry him. Jaclyn said yes and immediately asked Andrew back, so he could say yes too. Julie and Kyle were hiding in the bushes taking pictures, and afterward they all celebrated with bubbly by the creek. 19 months later, and we all get to celebrate together!
