Thanks to a lifelong friendship between our moms, we have always known of each other. After Sydney expressed a little "extra" interest, our families helped us to finally connect over lunch at Skyline in October 2019. We skipped the quiet 'get to know you' dinner and went straight for lunch, surrounded by our parents, grandparents, siblings, and aunts! From that point on, we knew we had something special and have not looked back since!

To celebrate the end of the spring term, we escaped to Pompano Beach, Florida for a quick getaway before our summer semesters began. What started as a little getaway ended with the proposal of a lifetime! On our last evening, a casual sunset walk turned into an unforgettable milestone. Matt used a "sunset selfie" as the ultimate distraction to get down on one knee. It was the easiest "Yes" Sydney has ever said, and easily one of our favorite memories to date!
