Our Story
2016
Our story began in the fall of 2016, when we crossed paths in Chicago, both navigating our busy college lives—me, entering my sophomore year at Columbia College Chicago, and Nick, in his senior year at Loyola University. It didn’t take long for us to bond over our shared love of Sunday football, and soon enough, we were spending our weekends together, cheering on our teams and discovering all that the city had to offer. The photo above is from the very first day we met! Over the next three years, our connection only deepened as we explored the vibrant Chicago scene—Nick, immersing himself in law school at DePaul, and me, diving into graduate studies at Loyola. Our love for the city and each other grew as we built a life together, filled with late-night talks, cozy dinners, and unforgettable adventures.
2020
Then came 2020, and like the rest of the world, our plans changed. The pandemic hit, and we quickly packed up and headed home to Cincinnati, where we stayed with the Jackson family while navigating the uncertainty. With Nick back in Rochester studying for the bar exam and me working remotely, we found comfort in driving back and forth, stealing moments together whenever we could, even in the midst of everything going on.
2021
By 2021, we were ready to start the next chapter. Nick moved to Cincinnati, and we finally took the leap to live together. Nick started his first job at a law firm, and I continued working remotely while also diving into my passion for fitness, teaching classes in my free time. We settled into a routine, but always with the excitement of what came next.
2022
The following year, we decided to embrace a new adventure—Denver! We moved to the mountains, eager to explore the outdoors and take in the beauty of nature. We both took up skiing, and Nick decided it was the perfect time to grow out his hair (and we’re glad he did!). But the most memorable moment of 2022 came on October 15, when Nick proposed during an unforgettable 8-mile hike in Breckenridge. With breathtaking views around us and a mountain air so crisp, he asked me to spend forever with him. Haydyn almost didn’t make it, but we made it to the top, and that moment will forever be etched in my heart.
2023 - Today
In 2023, our family grew by four paws. We welcomed Moose, a small but mighty chocolate Australian Labradoodle, into our lives. He’s brought so much joy, love, and laughter into our days. Now, we’re just soaking in the present—cherishing every moment together as we look forward to all the adventures still to come.
2025 & Beyond
Looking ahead to 2025, we’re filled with excitement and hope for the next chapter. We’ll be getting married, moving back east to be closer to family, buying our first home, and (hopefully) starting a family of our own. We can’t wait to see what life has in store for us, knowing that no matter what, we’ll be side by side, building our dreams together.
