The wedding ceremony is on Saturday, January 10, 2026. It will be held at Renaissance Wind Creek Resort in Curaçao. We do suggest you arrive on Friday 1/9 to settle in and explore the island. How long you stay, is up to you. It's a beautiful island with amazing experiences, great food, and even nicer people.
We want you to be comfortable while celebrating with us, so think breezy and elegant! Keep in mind, you will be on a beach and the weather will be around 80-90°F (27-32°C) so sandals are encouraged. But still, shirts and pants/dresses are needed. No swimwear. Hijabs are ALWAYS welcome.
Yes, you do. A valid passport is required for entry into Curaçao. Be sure to check that it’s not expired and has at least six months of validity remaining.
Short answer, no. US, Canadian, and EU passport holders do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days.
Curaçao International Airport (Hato Airport - CUR) is the main airport. There are direct flights from several U.S. cities, as well as connections through hubs like Miami, New York, and Amsterdam.
Taxis, rental cars, and ride-sharing services are available. If you plan on exploring, renting a car is a great option!
Yes! English, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, and the local language, Papiamentu, are all spoken, so you’ll have no trouble communicating.
Curaçao is warm and sunny year-round, with temperatures averaging 80-90°F (27-32°C). Pack lightweight, breathable clothing, swimsuits, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes.
So many! Snorkeling, diving, exploring Willemstad’s colorful streets, visiting the famous Blue Room Cave, relaxing at Cas Abao Beach, or taking a boat trip to Klein Curaçao. See the Things To Do page for a list of Jo's top 5 favorites.
Unfortunately, no. However, you can think of this trip as a mini-vacation where you came to see us get married (at the very least). When not with us, feel free to check out any of the activities listed! Jo had an amazing time doing them, so you might also. However, please note that as these activities are not covered by the wedding, you will need to pay for them separately. Activities range from $12-$140/pp, but they are unforgettable, albeit optional experiences.
Yes, up to 2 drinks per person at the reception on us. Anything after that is cash-based (on you). Have fun!
Check with your provider for international roaming options. You can also get a local SIM card or use Wi-Fi at hotels and restaurants.
Curaçao uses 110-130V and the same Type A and B plugs as the U.S., so no need for an adapter if you’re coming from the States!
The official currency is the Netherlands Antillean guilder (ANG), but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. Major credit cards work almost everywhere, and ATMs are available.
Tipping is appreciated but not always expected. A 10-15% service charge is sometimes included in restaurants, but if not, tipping 10-20% is standard.
Curaçao is in the Atlantic Standard Time (AST) zone, which is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) and does not observe daylight saving time.
Curaçao is very safe for tourists, but like anywhere, it’s good to stay aware of your surroundings. Avoid leaving valuables unattended and use hotel safes when possible.
