Adelynn is Jackson's niece, his wonderful sister Sydney's daughter. She is the funniest 6-year-old you'll ever meet. She is equal parts sweet and sassy. She likes to dance, she likes to play, and she is great at voices. She'll be in first grade next year!

Oscar Block is Maddy’s cousin! He’s smart, goofy, and has the best smile. He does karate and is an expert on ninja turtles and, of course, Pokémon. He is 6 years and will be in Kindergarten at Holy Souls next year.

Hank Meigs

Hank is Maddy's little brother! He is 13 years old and lives in Texas. He plays baseball, football, lacrosse, and fortnite. He'll probably say that he doesn't play fortnite anymore. My bad.

Monty Meigs

Monty is Maddy's little brother! He is 16 years old and lives in Cedar Park, Texas. Monty is a real life Troy Bolton, as a varsity football player and a successful choir student.

Destaney Duguid

Destaney is Maddy's oldest friend. She is from Little Rock, Arkansas. They met in middle school and sang Karaoke together at Maddy's 14th birthday party. Almost 15 years later, they are still occasionally singing karaoke together. (TBH, we don't really do karaoke all that often, usually we're watching bad movies together, but it worked better for the flow of the piece, so let's pretend, I LOVE karaoke) Throughout life they've bonded over their love of trash tv and theatre. In the chaos of life, as especially comes in your late teens and early twenties, Destaney has always been a constant for Maddy. She wouldn't be the person she is today without Destaney. Destaney is a preschool teacher beginning her next chapter, as a student studying in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Jenny Zheng

Jenny is Maddy's college bestie. She hails from Berkeley, California. She's a boss bitch from the Bay, what else is there to say? They met sharing a floor freshman year of college, vastly different people. Jenny was bold and loud and brave; Maddy was comparatively reserved and caught up in her head. Until she became friends with Jenny. They grew up together, travelled the world together, and challenged each other. Maddy credits Jenny teaching her that it was okay to take up space. As they have learned and grown along side each other, they've rubbed off on each other, becoming more and more similar until they coincidentally both became teachers. Jenny lives in Austin, Texas where she teaches math at a public school.

Zack Ward

Zack Ward is Jackson's best friend. He is also a proud Little Rock native. Jack and Zack met in middle school. They went to different high schools and lost touch, but after a chance meeting at a restaurant in Fayetteville, they immediately reconnected. That's where their adventures together really began. They've driven so many miles together just listening to music, searching for meaning and joy. Jackson is grateful to Zack for always helping to get him out of his comfort zone. Family isn't born, it's made. Zack is a man about town and the owner of a streetwear company, Brigade Skateboards.

Matt Deering

Matt is Jackson's oldest friend. They met middle school. And what are two middle school boys in 2005 to do, but film themselves injuring each other in their own series of videos called, "Dumbass"? This is one of the many shining relics of their friendship together. When Matt and Jackson get together, it is hard to make sense of what happens. Immediately, they fall into bits, conversing as new characters, every other sentence. That creativity is what makes this friendship so special. Matt is an artist living in Little Rock, Arkansas.
