Lindsay and Jackson met at Beaver Dam at a friend's brother's birthday party during their senior year at MICA. (Although Jackson recalls meeting Lindsay freshman year during a game of Apples to Apples, Lindsay has no recollection of that encounter.) Both sat awkwardly next to each other outside the apartment, not realizing they were meeting the same friend for the same summer time outing. After realizing they lived in the same apartment building, they developed a friendship over movie nights and ice skating with friends. Jackson even bought earrings from Lindsay at Art Market just to talk with her. Eventually, Jackson casually asked Lindsay out on a date for the upcoming Friday (which happened to be Valentine's Day). This risky move paid off and Jackson and Lindsay have been together ever since.
Jackson nervously carried a blue box around Italy in the bottom of his backpack until just the right moment. After a beautiful weekend of pesto-making on the cliffs of Manarola, drinking wine by the sea and exploring Cinque Terre, Jackson and Lindsay wanted a beach day before they left for Florence. While basking on the rocky beach of Monterosso, Cinque Terre, Italy, Jackson popped the question while Lindsay was reapplying sunscreen. Without hesitation, Lindsay said YES!
After postponing our original 2020 wedding celebration due to the pandemic, we decided we just couldn't wait to get married! We celebrated with a small group of family and friends on Zoom. Leah Miller officiated the perfect little ceremony and we celebrated with a picnic in Patterson Park with a few close, local friends. While getting married this way was not our original plan, we are so grateful to our family and friends who made it happen! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful pandemic wedding.
