It was a warm September night at Disneyland Park. Jackson was enjoying the last few hours of his vacation, and in all honesty Kyla was not having a very good day. The sun had just set and the twinkling lights of the park began to sparkle. The two, still strangers to each other both made the choice to embark on an adventure of the seas - the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The smell of Disney water lingering in the air, the cool AC and the soft piratey music playing in the background set the scene. Jackson had noticed Kyla in line, and as God or fate or the magic of Disneyland would have it - they ended up standing right next to each other. Being the charismatic man that Jackson is, he took this opportunity as a way to make himself known. After a few jokes thrown back and forth, Kyla and Jackson boarded their boat in the rows next to each other. After the usual turns and drops of the ride started coming to an end, and everything appearing how it usually does - the ride came to an abrupt stop. What originally seemed like a huge inconvenience ended up being the catalyst of their love story. With the music shut off and the lights turned on, passengers in the boat had nothing else to do but make conversation. Jackson used this second opportunity to continue laying the ground work (he gets all the credit for this one) of making a new connection with the people sitting behind him - the same ladies from the line, Kyla and her mom. After they were all evacuated, they both went their separate ways, only to run in to each other again - as if there was no force of mechanical failure or nature that could keep the two from meeting. Jackson and his friends, and Kyla and her mom ended up spending the rest of the evening with each other. It was filled with laughs, rides and getting to know each other. By the end of the night, and after the warm goodbyes, Jackson and Kyla both knew that they had potentially stumbled upon something as magical as the place that they met. The two were immediately inseparable on the phone, and after Kyla's first trip to Denver - they had made it official. Jackson and Kyla's first year as a dating couple has been filled with Facetimes and "I miss you"s, airports, driving, lots of trips to Disneyland, introductions, new adventures, and above all else - love. They both thank God for bringing them together, and savor every moment they get to spend together. They are eager to get married and are looking forward to celebrating with all of their friends and family.
