We are so excited to share our day with you!

We met through a dating app called Tinder, neither of us were really looking for love but when the right person comes along...it is hard to resist. If you don't know, the dating app allows you to view the profile (a few photographs and a short bio) of potential suitors. You then are able to swipe left to pass or swipe right to hopefully match. Once two people have both swiped right, the match is created and both parties are able to directly message one another....and then you just see where that takes you. So, here is our "story." Neither of us remember who swiped right on who first but October 5, 2018 is when the match formed. On that evening, Jackson was patiently waiting for a deer to meander into view of his hunting blind when he decided to message his new match, Kaia. The message read, "Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?" Kaia doesn't remember her exact whereabouts of the evening but knew she needed a cleaver comment to return with...to Google she went to search for a cleaver comment. Aha! She found the one...."Only because you weren't there to catch me." This, dearest family and friends, was how it all started!

Jackson had been asking for a date with Kaia for some time and she finally gave in. The plan was to go out to Longhorn Steakhouse for lunch and return to Kaia's apartment for a viewing of one of Kaia's favorite movies, Brother Bear, which Jackson had never seen. We have a lovely lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse with complimentary dessert (our waitress apologized for our dinner taking too long and said dessert was "On the house" - we, of course, had no idea how long it had been as we were enjoying our conversation). We then arrived at Kaia's apartment and watched Brother Bear and enjoyed some Klondike Bars. We were enjoying each other's company so much that Jackson stuck around for supper at Granite City before heading home to Hallock.

Jackson graduated from University of Minnesota Crookston with a degree in Agronomy and Ag Business.

We took a trip to Arizona with Jackson's brother, Logan, to visit Jackson's grandparents, David & Jean Sorenson, and Kaia's grandparents, Carl & Wanda Erickson. It was a great time!

Kaia graduated from Concordia College Moorhead with a degree in Accounting.

It was a pretty normal Tuesday. Kaia had invited Jackson down to Thief River Falls to spend the evening. Kaia instructed Jackson that he could pick up a Papa Murphy's pizza to make for supper as Kaia would be working until about 6 o'clock. Jackson picked up the pizza and waited for Kaia to get home. 6 o'clock turned into 7 o'clock and finally Kaia was home. Jackson made the pizza . . . we ate the pizza . . . then Jackson announced that he had dessert for us. Kaia offered to start the oven again as she figured he had purchased the dessert at Papa Murphy's. Jackson said no, and Kaia was puzzled. "Oh well" thought Kaia, "I'm not ready for dessert yet anyways." Kaia proceeded to start packing for their upcoming vacation to California as Jackson hungout on the couch. As the evening approached 9pm, Jackson told Kaia that is was time for dessert. He instructed her to sit down at the kitchen counter and close her eyes . . . she did. He then went to the patio door, opened it, and went outside. Within moments he was back and had set something in front of Kaia. She opened her eyes to find 2 Klondike bars with the words "Will You Marry Me?" written in frosting, a box with a gorgeous ring, and a handsome Jackson (who was down on one knee). The next part was all a little bit of a blur but Kaia made sure she heard him ask those words out loud before she exclaimed "Yes!" . . . Yes, of course we ate the Klondike bars! . . .
