Question

When/where is the welcome dinner? Do I need to bring anything?

Answer

The welcome dinner is 6-10PM at Hicksville. We will be having barbecue and drinks courtesy of the Maschoff family. This is a casual event meant to welcome guests as they arrive into town, stop by any time, for however long! No need to bring anything, unless there's a special drink option you would like.

Question

How do I get to Hicksville?

Answer

For those entering on the 62 from the west (this includes those flying into Palm Springs): - In your preffered Maps App, search "Yucca Valley" to get close. - Once on the 62, make a left at the light onto Yucca Mesa Road - Next, take a right onto Aberdeen (Pass FoxyFlats) - Make a left onto Border - Make a left onto La Brisa - Follow La Brisa 1.5 miles down the road, we are on the left at the Bright Purple House For those entering from the 62 East: - In your preffered Maps App, search "Joshua Tree" to get close. - From the 62 East, make a right onto Sunburst - Next, take a right onto Golden - Then a left onto Border - Next, take a left onto La Brisa - Follow La Brisa 1.5 miles down the road, we are on the left at the Bright Purple House

Question

Do you care what I wear?

Answer

The welcome dinner is casual. The only request we have for the ceremony/reception is all guests refrain from wearing white, ivory, or any color that could be perceived as white on camera. The ceremony/reception is semi-formal. It can get chilly at night so we recommend bringing a jacket or cover-up as well.

Question

Can I hang out at Hicksville on Sunday morning before the ceremony?

Answer

We ask all guests not staying at Hicksville to remain off-premises at times other than the welcome dinner and reception. This is an insurance requirement for the venue and also ensures a calm environment for the couple to get ready in.

Question

Where is the ceremony? How do I get there?

Answer

The ceremony takes place at Indian Cove amphitheater in Joshua Tree National park at 2:30PM. All guests must take the designated shuttle from the Elks lodge at 1:55PM to get to the ceremony area. There is NO parking at Indian Cove, you MUST take the shuttle. The ride is approximately 10 minutes. There are pit toilets at the nearby campground and we will provide drinks and parasols for sun protection. It is a little bit of a walk through sand from the drop-off area to the ceremony area, maybe 2-3 minute walk.

Question

What's the deal with the reception?

Answer

The shuttle will drop guests back off at their cars at Elks at ~3:30PM. Hop in your cars and head back to Hicksville where the reception will be in full swing! Bar and appetizers open at 4PM, and we have provided a selection of snacks in the kitchen trailer for guests to munch on if they're hungry before the passed appetizers. Don't forget cash to tip the bartender! Dinner begins at 5:30PM, with speeches at ~6PM. After dinner ends at ~6:30PM, the dance floor opens, the couple will do their first dance, and guests have full access to all that Hicksville has to offer. This includes fire pits, a mini-golf course, the dance floor, reception area etc.

Question

If I'm staying at Hicksville, what do I need to bring? How can I find out more about my trailer/the venue?

Answer

Food will be provided for guests staying at Hicksville; along with food provided at the wedding events we will have a light breakfast and coffee Sunday morning and grab-and-go brunch options at 11AM. There will also be snacks and drinks stocked in the common kitchen. If your trailer has a kitchen, feel free to bring whatever food you'd like in addition to the above! There is a swimming pool and hot tub, bring your bathing suit if you'd like to use them. Trailer assignments can be found in the subsection "Guests at Hicksville." You can find more info on Hicksville here, along with detailed write-ups on the trailers: https://www.hicksvillepalace.com/

Question

What will we be eating?

Answer

The reception appetizers and dinner will be family style, farm-to-table Italian with salads, sides, and pizza. The bar will be fully stocked with liquor, mixers, beer, and wine! Dessert will be cupcakes.

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Your presence is the gift! We have a registry if guests want to send a wedding gift, but don't feel obligated to. We do request if you're planning on getting a gift that you purchase before the wedding and have it shipped to our house (an option on the registry page), so we don't have to travel with gifts. Either way, cards/sweet notes always appreciated and we can take those day of :)

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask all guests to RSVP by 9/1/24 if possible.

For all the days along the way
