Our Story Our story began with a first date between two people who had only known each other for a month. Like many first dates, there was a mix of excitement, curiosity, and a few nerves. We spent the evening talking about our faith, our goals, and the lives we hoped to build. Between a disappointing dinner, an unsuccessful attempt to visit a lighthouse, and a drive down unfamiliar back roads, we discovered how easy it was to talk to one another. Not long after, our relationship faced its first major challenge when Jackson deployed to Iraq. The distance tested us in ways we did not expect. Communication was not always easy. There were broken phones, dead batteries, time differences, and long stretches when staying connected proved difficult. Yet through that season, we both grew individually and in our faith, learning that love is strengthened not only by emotion, but also by commitment, patience, and perseverance. After months apart, a simple text message reopened the door to what we had started. As we reconnected, we quickly realized that the connection we had built before the deployment was still there. Over time, two strangers became friends, friends became best friends, and best friends became the people we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with. One of the things we admire most about each other is our shared commitment to faith, family, and serving others. We have encouraged one another through challenges, celebrated victories together, and continued learning what it means to build a relationship rooted in trust, grace, and love. Looking back, it is amazing to see how far we’ve come from that first date. What began as a simple evening together became the start of a journey neither of us could have anticipated. We are incredibly grateful for the family and friends who have supported us along the way, and we are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
