We first met on April 6th 2024. We know the exact date because it was the day Delaney interviewed for a job at a summer camp in Forsyth County, where Jackson was already working. Of course, Delaney got the job. That meant that we were guaranteed to see each other every day for 10 straight weeks, working outdoors in the dirt and the GA heat. We started dating after only the 2nd week. The first date was very exciting for both of us. Delaney casually mentioned that she LOVED chicken and waffles, and suggested that she and Jackson go get some. She thought she was being sneaky, but Jackson knew what she was up to. The first date went so well that barely a week later, during our second date, we both talked about how interested we were in the other and decided to start dating, while in a Waffle House. Over the next two years, we built a strong relationship, consisting of long talks, long walks with Scooby, long car rides to visit Virginia. Eventually it included us moving in together and us adopting another puppy, Timber, into our family. Then, two days before the anniversary of us meeting, we went on a weekend getaway to visit Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. On April 4th, 2026, in the gardens behind the Governor's Palace, Jackson asked Delaney if she would marry him. Of course she said yes.
