In June of 2017, on the first day of Staff Education Week at Trail's End Camp, Abby sat across the table in the dining hall from a red-headed boy in a Bonnaroo shirt. His name was Jackson. She struck up a conversation, having just come back from a music festival herself, to see what this guy was all about. A few weeks later on the camp day-off trip to the Promised Land State Park, Abby and Jackson found themselves discussing music on the bus and he asked for her Snapchat. Once at the park, she stole his green bucket hat and he took her Washington State University snapback. The rest is history. They began frequently snap chatting and texting for the entire summer, Abby quickly developing a crush on this cool ~older guy~. Jackson kept talking to Abby because he loved her bubbly, beautiful personality. When the summer ended the two continued to keep in touch, through the good and bad times over the school year between camp. Finally, the two reunited in the summer of 2018, being super awkward with each other. It took an entire summer of dancing the subject, friends pushing Jackson to make a move, and Abby questioning if he even liked her before they finally got together. On a summer night on August 9th, 2018 over an ice cream date at Paulies Hot Dogs, Jackson finally asked her to be his girlfriend and they made it official. From there the rest is history and the two dated long distance for over a year, before COVID allowed them to move in together in Jacksonville, Florida and get engaged shortly after.
