Jackson and Abbie met through their mutual connection to the Navigator's ministry at CSU. Their freshman year of college, they both went to Navs and knew of each other but never spoke or officially met. Jackson and Abbie both secretly were interested in each other, but neither of them did anything about it. Once covid hit, Abbie wasn't involved in Navs anymore, so they both moved on. Years later, during their junior year, a mutual friend told Abbie she remembered hearing that Jackson thought Abbie was cute. She invited Abbie to "casually" come to a get together at City Park that she knew Jackson would be at so that they could meet. Abbie came to the park and officially met Jackson on April 9, 2022. They started talking and immediately hit it off, bonding over similar music taste. Little did they know that this day at the park would change their whole lives!

On October 21, 2023, Abbie thought she was going to the Denver Art Museum to do a drawing class with Jackson's mom. Little did she know that Jackson was already there, putting his plan in motion. Once Abbie got to the museum, she couldn't find Suzy anywhere. She kept texting her without getting responses; Suzy was too busy frantically texting Jackson asking him what to tell her, seeing as she wasn't actually there. Abbie decided to go up to the desk to check in, and was told that there was a drawing class going on in the building across the street. Abbie was confused, but went across the street anyway. Jackson, who was waiting up on the bridge connecting the two buildings, saw her cross the street and was confused as to where she was going. Abbie looked all over the other building and couldn't find Suzy or the class anywhere. Stressing out now, she decided to go back to the main building. As she started walking back, she saw a familiar person walking towards her with a big smile on her face. It was Abbie's childhood best friend, Jordy, who had flown in from Nashville to help with the proposal! Abbie stopped in her tracks in shock as she realized what was happening. Jordy gave her a letter from Jackson telling her he was up on the bridge and he needed to talk to her about something. Jordy led Abbie back to the right building and up to the bridge where Jackson was waiting for her. Jackson saw them come back across the street and got into position, ready for the big moment. When Abbie reached the bridge, Jackson got on one knee and popped the question. Afterwards they walked around the museum soaking it all in, excited for everything to come.
