1st Meeting - About five months after moving to California in 2017, I met Soror Gina Abrams and instantly we become friends. I spent a lot of time with Gina and her husband, Keir Abrams, who's a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Eric's line brother. Around March 2019, I accepted Gina's invitation to a crab feed in San Francisco. This crab feed was hosted by the Omegas and yes, Eric was there. After Gina introduced us, we said hello and that was it. He didn't notice me nor I him. 2nd Meeting - In August of 2019, I attended another Omega event, Cigars and Sundresses, in Sacramento. Well....yes, I was with my girl, my Soror, Gina....and yes, of course Eric was there. While sitting there looking sexy (at least I thought so...lol) in my red dress, chatting, smoking a cigar, and nursing a Corona, I hear "Hi! Who are you?". It's Eric. I smile and politely say, “You know me." Everyone laughed because they knew we met at the crab feed in March. They told him I was from Georgia and new to Sacramento. He offered to show me around, which I thought was sweet. But he messed up when he said, "Get my number from Gina”. I chuckled and said to myself, "When hell freezes over". If he wanted me to have his number, he should've given it to me. So, that was the end of that. 3rd Meeting - In October 2019, I decided to join a dating site. As soon as I completed my profile, I had several matches. So, I open the email to check them out. The very first match was Mr. Eric Carson, I could've died. I was so embarrassed because I didn't want him to know I was on a dating site. I instantly said to myself, “He's going to tell Gina he saw me on this dating site." Well, I wanted him to know I saw him too...lol. So, I decided to beat him to the punch. I sent a message and said, "Hey frat! Funny seeing you here". I don't think I need to say it, but yes, he responded. We went on our first date October 26, 2019, and we've been together ever since. On that day I knew I would never leave his side. He was the perfect gentleman and treated me like a queen without expecting anything in return. That was new to me, and it felt amazing!!!
Christmas Day 2021, Eric gave me this big beautifully wrapped Christmas present. I was super excited, and anxious to open it. When I opened my gift it was a box full of towels! I figured we must need new towels; therefore, I knew to be grateful. Suddenly there it was, a cute small box buried in the middle of the towels!!!!! I got so excited and began to scream!! Eric quickly took the box from me. I thought to myself, "oh no! Maybe it's not a ring, but earrings and I'm getting too excited thinking it's a ring." Quickly he dropped to one knee, opened the box and asked, "Jackie, will you marry me?" With tears rolling down my face I screamed "YES!!!" I called my mother and we both cried. It was the best day of my life!
