Washington DC
Go explore the free museums and monuments! Visiting the monuments at night is still a bucket list item of mine :) About 45-60 minutes from the venue IF you would like to visit the Washington Monument, tickets are $1 and sell out very quickly. There are three ways to get them; 1. go to www.recreation.gov 30 days in advance and reserve. Next available day (30 days out) become available at 10am 2. Limited number of additional tickets becomes available at 10am each day for a next day visit. Go to same website to reserve 3. You can get FREE day of tickets if available, at the Washington Lodge located along 15th Street between Madison and Jefferson Drives. (Opens at 0845) One person can get up to 6 tickets.
Guinness Open Gate Brewery
Very cool experience. Go enjoy a pint outside in the beer garden, enjoy food from the food trucks or get a tour of the experimental brewery. About an hour from the venue Open Wednesday-Thursday 3pm-10pm; Friday 12pm-10pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am-10pm
Bobby McKey's Dueling Piano Bar
