Every November since we were in middle school our 2 church youth groups would come to Summit Lake Camp for a combined retreat. There was always something special about taking a pause on the school year and coming to a place like this while the leaves were changing color. We always left this place feeling renewed in our walks with Jesus as the whole weekend was focused on having Christ at the center. Jack and I always had a little crush on each other and every November when we would see each other again after a long time, that crush grew just a bit more.  After we graduated high school, Jack was off to college while I stayed home in Lancaster. Time went by without us pursuing any form of relationship until the fall of 2018.
