Sean- Jackie’s dad and I had Michigan football tickets next to each other for three years. Before a game in September 2018, he started telling me about his daughter and how she was very smart and good with money. He asked if he could take my picture and send it to her, which I reluctantly agreed to. Jackie and I started texting the next day and have talked or texted every day since. Our first in person meeting happened less than a week later. We went to a brewery and for sushi. I remember thinking that she seemed smart and kind. Jackie- I was out with a group of work friends when I got a picture and “short bio” texted to me by my dad. We all laughed around the table at how forward my dad was being and I ignored the text until the next day where I sent Sean a picture and very similar bio. We texted for days and had a lot of similarities so we met at Michigan beer company. I initially thought he was very handsome and polite. He was a little shy at first.
Jackie - Sean is incredibly caring. If anything means something to me or has any importance he is present and helping me experience it. He cares about how I’m feeling and truly wants the best and for me to be happy. Sean- Jackie is very focused on continuous improvement. She always feels that she can improve in some way so she sets goals for herself and works hard to reach them. That trait in Jackie pushes me to do the same.
Sean and Jackie's first international vacation together was to Costa Rica. While in La Fortuna, Costa Rica the day started by visiting a waterfall and swimming in the river that accompanied the waterfall. Moving on to a hot spring retreat they shared pina coladas in hot springs for a few hours and explored the many different natural hot spring pools. They ended the day by hiking around a volcano drinking cold local beers overlooking Lake Arenal.
Sean surprised Jackie by coming home early from a trip up north. He had posted photos from their relationship on the walls and laid a path of rose petals and candles leading to the bedroom. The door was closed and had photos of Olympic National Park, where we wanted to get married. Jackie opened the door and started crying. Sean kneeled and proposed. Our friend Sam took a video of the whole thing!
On Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park in Washington Sean and Jackie exchanged personally written vows and were married by Officiant, Bob Green. It had been record high heat for several days in Washington but on the way to the ceremony the temperature dropped over twenty degrees and allowed them and their closest friends and family to witness their marriage.
