When Jackie and Scott first met, ‘Sunday Funday’ in Hermosa Beach, CA was the routine. Live music, predictable dance moves and Pizza Hut Big Dinner Boxes proving to be catalysts to their connection. This connection would grow stronger over time, and despite being at different life and career stages, the universe (AKA readings from Jackie’s astrologer) would continue to bring them together. While fun in the Hermosa sun brought the connection, it was their shared need for exploration which created their unbreakable bond. They cruised the Pacific Northwest and California coastline in their bitchin’ surf van, travelled thousands of miles road tripping to visit family and friends, jet-setted to big cities and remote beach towns alike...they even moved abroad to Mexico City for more than 2 years. This time together set the foundation for the love and appreciation they share for each other every day. They became each other’s “favorite’. After seven short years, three cities, two countries, one life-changing fur-baby and countless adventures under their belt, they are ready to take the next step in their union. On 12.31.22, Scott and Jackie will become husband & wife – and they couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this day with their favorite people as they write the next chapter in their life together.

The proposal took place along the cliffs of San Onofre State Beach, a favorite place to bring Zebby to play in the sand and surf. Jackie almost (unknowingly) ruined the whole proposal by refusing to go to the beach. Scott had sneakily suggested the night before a family trip to the beach in the morning to tire Zebby out before their Christmas party. So the next morning Scott said he was going to the "gym" and then when he got back, they could all go to the beach as planned. They were hosting a Christmas party that night and Jackie was cleaning and preparing for the party while Scott was at the "gym". Little did she know, he was preparing for his big moment! When Scott got home, his lovely soon-to-fiancé was stressed by the amount of work she had to do before the party and told Scott to take Zebby to the beach without her. Panicked, Scott tried persuading her that it would be a quick trip. Jackie wouldn’t budge. Scott said he had an early Christmas gift for her there. Jackie then quickly agreed to go to the beach. Jackie’s family had been waiting patiently all morning for them! They were expertly hiding as they watched Scott and Jackie walk down a path of rose petals until the edge of the cliff overlooking San Onofre. Scott got down on one knee and asked Jackie to marry him. Zebby was there too of course and was actively pooping as his dad asked the most important question of his life.
