How We Met

A long time coming...

We met in front of a music venue in 2009. His band was playing a show, and when I saw him, I texted a girlfriend of mine and called dibs on "the mustache.” I was smitten right from the start. We met and talked about music and realized pretty quickly that this felt different and special. We shared an evening in a tree house in Laguna Beach and talked until the sun came up. Around Valentine's day he told me that he decided that I was his girlfriend. I had never met a person that I wanted to be with at all times. Once we both settled in at home, everything felt right. In 2014 something wildly, magically beautiful happened — we conceived a baby girl. She is the light of our lives. After her birth I remember saying that I didn't want to get engaged or married simply because we had a child now. So, when he managed to completely blindside me with a proposal in one of my favorite places in October 2015... I was shocked. He managed to set up a proposal using pumpkins in a pumpkin patch at Tanaka Farms. Since then, these last couple years, life has given us so many wonderful things to be grateful about, especially after getting through some terribly difficult times. It feels like a long time coming, and we are both so unbelievably excited and ready to be married.
