Question

What are the closest airports? How do we get there?

Answer

The closest airport is Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), which is roughly 1-1.5 hours from RDC. Boston Logan (BOS) is roughly 2-2.5 hours from RDC. Portland Maine International (PWM) is roughly 2 hours from RDC. Portsmouth New Hampshire Airport (PSM) 1.5 Hours from RDC If traveling by car, the address for Rockywold-Deephaven Camps (RDC) is: 18 Bacon Rd, Holderness, NH 03245. There is parking on premises.

Question

Is there wifi or cell reception?

Answer

Cell reception can be spotty around the lake, but there is standard (non-high speed) wifi at RDC.

Question

When should we arrive and depart?

Answer

Check-in at RDC is after 3pm Friday (5/30). Please feel free to arrive anytime before 3pm check-in on Friday to begin enjoying camp activities. Check out from RDC is 11am on Sunday (6/1).

Question

What restaurants or food options are around?

Answer

Breakfast and dinner are provided if you are staying at RDC. There are options for lunch or other meals and snacks in Holderness (15 minute drive). We recommend bringing snacks, beverages, and beer/wine/liquor or lunch for your cabins! Squam Lake Marketplace is great for lunch! Bob's Sure Fine, E.M Heath Supermarket, and Hannaford's are the local grocery stores for snacks and beer/wine/liquor etc - recommend stopping at one of them on the way in. Our personal favorite spot is The Foothills Cafe & Curio (15 minute drive) in Center Sandwich, NH where the Gampers grew up going in the summer.

Question

Can I bring my own food and drinks to RDC?

Answer

We recommend bringing snacks, beverages, and beer/wine/liquor for your cabins! Every cottage has an old-fashioned icebox containing ice harvested from the lake used for refrigeration purposes. Guests should use only processed ice cubes for consumption. Bagged ice is located outside each dining hall.

Question

Can we bring our pets?

Answer

Please leave your furry, fluffy, scaly, or feathered friends at home. RDC and Church Island do not allow pets, unless they are service animals. If you are planning on bringing a service animal, please let us know!

Question

What should I bring to be "boyscout" prepared?

Answer

Flashlight, hiking shoes/boots, bathing suit, bug spray, snacks & drinks, water bottle, sweatshirt/sweater.
