Once upon a time there was a young IT guy that met a girl at a work event, they fell in love and lived happily ever after... ... just kidding; although the first part was sort of true. This was a little bit more complicated than that. Matt and Jackie first met at the advertising company they both worked at. It was there that Matt was working in IT and had to move Jackie's computer one day. This is the part of the story that Jackie has no recollection of. To her, their story begins when she met Matt at a Union soccer game in the fall of 2014. Upon meeting Matt, she noticed that he was wearing a Game of Thrones shirt, was very cute, told terrible jokes, and knew instantly she was going to like him. After months of Matt conveniently running into Jackie, they started to form a friendship outside of work. Even though she knew he was a good match for her, Jackie resisted the idea of dating Matt, claiming that they were just good friends. All throughout that summer, Matt subtly (and not so subtly) reminded Jackie that they would be good together. It took until one fateful dinner date at an East Passyunk bar in December of 2015 for the chips to fall into place and from there they were more than just good friends. Four years later, on Christmas morning, Matt got down on one knee in their little Philadelphia apartment, in front of their little Christmas Tree and asked Jackie to marry him; all to the tune of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - Jackie's favorite. Originally, the engagement part of their story was supposed to end on July 3rd, 2020, but COVID-19 had other plans. After months of deliberation on what to do, Matt and Jackie decided that the most important thing to them was to be married, celebrate with their close friends and family and start their lives together. They'll be married on October 10th at Matt's childhood parish in South Philly. They're looking forward to the big day and are so excited to celebrate with everyone!
