Question

Can I bring my kids or a guest?

Answer

While we would love for everyone and their children to celebrate our special day, only those specifically listed on the RSVP are able to attend due to limited space and seating. If we missed someone in your party, please reach out to the bride or groom prior to the RSVP deadline. With that said, if your child(ren) will be in attendance, The Monterey Ballroom requests that there is ABSOLUTELY NO horseplay on the grounds for the duration of the festivities! The Monterey Ballroom and the bride and groom ask that parents (or another designated responsible person) keep a close eye on their children throughout the evening for safety purposes.

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is: 7/31/2026 Unfortunately, if you do not RSVP by the date specified above, a seat will not be saved for you. However, you are more than welcome to come to the dance!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dressy casual/semi-formal- please refrain from wearing white! Keep in mind: The ceremony is planned to be outdoors, while the reception and dance will be indoors. The weather during the month of September changes quickly, so please be prepared.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4pm. Once the ceremony has begun, guests will not be able to enter until the ceremony has concluded.

Can I take photos and videos?

Answer

During the ceremony, we ask that guests turn their phones on silent/vibrate and keep them in their pockets to allow our professional photographer to get the beautiful shots they are hired to take. We want the moment to be a special, intimate time with our loved ones. Once the ceremony has concluded, you are more than welcome to take all the pictures you'd like. Should I bring cash?

Answer

Yes! A cash bar will be available to purchase drinks from where cash OR card is required. Please note: The Monterey Ballroom charges a 4% fee for all card transactions. There will also be a dollar dance if you so choose to participate!

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the venue?

Answer

Unfortunately, there is no transportation to or from the venue. The hotel is about an 8 minute drive from the venue. Please plan accordingly. There is a large parking lot to park in at the venue and if needed, guests can leave their vehicles there overnight. All vehicles MUST be picked up by 10am on Sunday morning to avoid being towed by the venue.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Owatonna- you can find the link to book a room in the room block located in the Travel section of our website.
