The very best Pimms Cup and muffaletta in the city! This is a Schornstein family staple. Jackie has been going here since she was a little girl and her dad has been going since he was a freshman at Tulane. It still holds up many years later, and continues to be our first stop in New Orleans!
The best oysters in the city! This is a Capilouto favorite. Jeff always ate here with his grandparents when visiting them in New Orleans. Make sure to check the hours before you go - they open and close as they please!
A famous place for breakfast. Worth the line!
A great place for brunch, lunch, or even a snack. This is where Jeff first met Jackie's parents!
Excellent sandwiches. We try to make a stop here every trip to New Orleans!
We both grew up going here with our families whenever we visited our grandparents in New Orleans! It's a diner with a New Orleans twist and great for when you're craving something greasy and delicious. A chocolate freeze is an absolute must.
Known for their charbroiled oysters. Stop by for a dozen (or two) and a beer!
A classic and excellent spot for poboys
This is the Schornstein family's favorite and some wonderful memories and meals have been had here, from annual Jazz Fest dinners to Tulane graduation dinner. If you can't make it for dinner, stop by for some oysters at the bar!
A Capilouto and Schornstein favorite! This is where our parents first met each other
A lovely little hidden gem with the best croissants and garden to eat them in
This is our favorite coffee shop in New Orleans. There are nine locations across the city - this location is the closest to the Bienville House Hotel and the International House Hotel
A cute and classic spot for breakfast and beignets
A delicious and unique breakfast spot
A fun bar that has a number of beers on tap and a great courtyard on Magazine Street
Our favorite late night bar with a great dance floor and excellent Flaming Dr. Pepper shots
A great outdoor wine bar in the Bywater with live music
Located behind St. Louis Cathedral is this tiny bar with the very best bloody mary New Orleans has to offer. Grab one for our afternoon stroll around the French Quarter
The must fun street in New Orleans for live music. d.b.a, The Spotted Cat, Blue Nile, Cafe Negril, Maison, and The Apple Barrrel are our favorite spots on Frenchmen, but we recommend strolling down the street and popping in and out wherever you hear live music
Allegedly the oldest bar in the country! They make a mean "Purple Drank" which we recommend you only have one of
The most beautiful park located Uptown, across the street from Tulane University (Roll Wave!). You can ride the street car up to Audubon Park for a quintessential New Orleans experience
We both grew up visiting the Audubon Zoo. Located in beautiful Audubon Park, it's a great activity for all ages!
A wonderful museum - we recommend reserving your tickets in advance
This is new museum in New Orleans that is supposed to be incredible. We can't wait to visit ourselves!
One of our favorite museums. It's located in the Old U.S. Mint and is a great way to spend an hour or two learning about the history of jazz in New Orleans
