Gio and Jackie’s love story kicked off in a fun and unexpected way—they met at Rockbox, a cardio kickboxing class where the punches turned into a knockout connection! Their early dates were a mix of adventures: cheering at MMA fights, digging into BBQ, cracking codes in escape rooms, and wandering the beautiful Biltmore Estate. Since then, they’ve explored over 20 states together, with their trip to Italy standing out as a favorite. Jackie has a tradition of picking up a Christmas ornament in each city they visit to keep the memories alive (hence the Christmas themed wedding 😅), and their dog, Sport, is almost always along for the ride in the backseat. Even though Gio is a die-hard Patriots fan and Jackie roots for the Packers, football season is always fun and just a little competitive. Gio teaches marketing at Anderson University, while Jackie runs her own marketing agency in Greenville—making working from home together both lively and full of shared ideas. Every night, no matter where they are, they end the day with a prayer together and are looking forward to hosting more Bible study nights in their new home. Recently, they took on the adventure of buying their first house, with dreams of hosting dinner parties, traveling the world, welcoming little ones, and filling their home with laughter. Their journey together is all about love, fun, and making the most of every moment.

Giovanni knew how much the Wyche Pavilion meant to Jackie—she'd visited it countless times as a child, and every time they walked by, she’d share her dream of getting married there. During a Friendsgiving celebration, Gio found the perfect moment. He left for a bit, gathering with the guys, while his friends handed Jackie a letter. It invited her to meet him at the spot that held her heart at a specific time. When she arrived at the pavilion, overlooking the river, their friends stood by, and her sister joined through Facetime. Gio had set the mood with soft music and glowing candles. As they slow danced, Gio gently knelt down on one knee, asking Jackie to be his forever.

The bell of San Michele holds a precious place in the history of Capri. As the legend goes, one night a poor shepherd boy on the island could not find the one sheep his family owned. Panicked, he heard bells and followed the sound to a ravine. There St. Michael appeared to him and took a small bell off his neck and gave it to the boy saying, “Take this bell and always follow the sound of it to keep you from danger.” For years, jewelers on Capri have produced these bells as small charms. During World War II, American soldiers came to Capri for rest and relaxation and bought these bells. They pinned them inside their uniforms for good luck or sent them home to their families. A large replica of the Capri bell was sent to President Roosevelt at Christmas in 1944, with this message: “The people of Capri, who are proud to give hospitality to the brave men of the American Air Force, offer to the President of the United States, the bell of San Michele, which is the supreme symbol of Fortune, Faith and Glory; may it ring on the Day of Victory for everlasting peace and freedom in all the world.” The bell was displayed at the National Archives in Washington DC and rung to celebrate both V-E Day and V-J Day and is now part of the permanent exhibit of the Museum of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library where it can be admired still. In our lives, the enchanting sound of bells has become a cherished symbol of love and protection.
