Things To Do

We're so excited to share some of our favorite places to visit while in Durango!

Durango Hot Springs Resort & Spa

6475 County Road 203, Durango, CO 81301
, 9702470111

This place is relaxing and has a variety of hot pools for an enjoyable soak. No need to book more than the 2 hour time slot because the staff doesn't pay attention enough to kick anyone out if they go over time. lol

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

479 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301

We have yet to ride the train, but I bet it's BEAUTIFUL in October. I have heard from folks to book a half day trip because it's the prettiest route going there, so you wouldn't be missing much heading back. I have also heard that a full day booking is simply too long because it's about 7 full hours on a train.

The Bookcase and Barber

601 East 2nd Avenue, Durango, CO 81301

This is the BEST cocktail bar in town and has a cool speakeasy vibe. Be sure to go on their website to get the password for entry.

Rupert's Durango

810 East College Drive, Durango, CO 81301

This is the place that is catering our Goodbye Brunch, but we both agree that they make a damn good burger as well. Tim the owner and all the staff are good people. Just tell them who sent you to get the locals experience.

Taco Libre - Taqueria & Cocktails

1150 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301

ORDER THE TACOS AND A MARGARITA.

11th Street Station

1101 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301

This is a groovy outdoor seating area with a full bar and a bunch of food trucks. It offers multiple options so there's something for everyone. The Cluck Stop has the BEST fried chicken sandwich in town.

Cat Care Durango

72 Suttle Street, Durango, CO 81301

Now hear me out, this is an awesome no kill cat shelter where you can visit just to pet the cats. Who knows, maybe you'll bring one home.

Purgatory Resort

1 Skier Place, Durango, CO 81301

Silverton

Silverton, CO 81433

Silverton is a hour away from Durango, but the drive is gorgeous. This is an old western town with a lot of history and a quirky community.

Ouray

Ouray, CO

Our favorite mountain town besides Durango. If you plan your trip with extra time around our wedding, I would recommend making the trip. You will also be driving on the notorious "Million Dollar Highway" that has breathtaking views. Please don't text and drive.

Telluride

Telluride, CO

Ride the gondola, it's the only affordable activity in Telluride(it's free). Also prepare to pay $80-$100 minimum for a meal for two. Very expensive, but if you have the extra cash to stay a night, it's worth the trip.
