Question

What is an 'UNPLUGGED' wedding?

Answer

With advancements in tech, the emergence of social media, & the culture of documenting life's important moments, the wedding industry has run into a new problem. That problem is your cell phones! The photographers hired to capture the moments of this special day are finding it difficult to capture the raw beauty & magic of weddings due to PHOTOBOMBERS! These photo bombers are your Iphones & Androids! Thus emerged the idea of an ‘UNPLUGGED’ wedding! On our wedding day we ask guests to ‘UNPLUG’ by putting away their phones & avoiding taking any photos during the ENTIRE CEREMONY & SELECT MOMENTS of the reception. These moments include: Entry of the wedding party; Speeches; Dances (1st dance, father/daughter, & mother/son); Garter & bouquet toss; & Cutting of the cake. Don’t worry, you can to take your own pictures during the cocktail hour & parts of the reception. We trust our photographer will capture amazing photos & we’ll share them with guests later. Thanks for your cooperation.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire: cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, dark jackets and slacks, suits and a dress shirt (tie optional). Ladies...it should go without saying, but the ONLY woman allowed to wear a white dress will be the bride! Also keep in mind that the bridal party will be wearing sage green & champagne gold floor length gowns. Aside from floor length sage green, floor length champagne gold, and white dresses your options are wide open!!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Only if your invitation was addressed to you 'and guest' & you RSVP'd accordingly.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, the only children in attendance will be those involved in the wedding & those of close family. If your invitation was addressed to the entire family (ex. 'The Doyles') then your children are welcome and if you plan to bring your children then please RSVP accordingly. If your invite was not addressed to the entire family or stated your name 'and guest' then please find a sitter for your little one's and enjoy the night child free! Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes. If you booked a room at the Marriott under the wedding rooms that we blocked then there is a shuttle available for use to and from the wedding. See the travel tab for more info. If you have additional questions contact the hotel directly.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of room for parking at White Iron Ridge. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all at this venue.

Question

Directions to the venue

Answer

White Iron Ridge is located in Smithville, Missouri. This is a newer venue and due to this sometimes the GPS may not be 100% accurate. If the GPS asks you to turn into what appears to be a neighborhood, IGNORE the prompts and continue to drive down State Route 92 until you see signs and the entrance to white iron ridge as it is directly off the main road. There should be no need to drive through any neighborhoods, if you do end up at a dead end in a neighborhood, simply turn around and go back to State Route 92, turn right and continue down the road for a couple of minutes until you find the entrance to the venue! If you still have difficulty please contact the day of coordinator directly. Rita Strickland p:816-200-1455 Address: 815 State Rte 92 Smithville, MO 64089
