Travel

Santa Barbara is a very accessible city with lots to offer. Please see our tips on travel, lodging, and getting around the city below.

Flight

Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Flying into SBA is the most direct option as far as flights go. Southwest, United, American, and Alaska Airlines fly in & out of SBA, however this is a small airport so options can get pricey. A potentially cheaper option, and a nice one if you're looking to make a bigger trip out of things, is to fly into LAX and rent a car to make the 1.5 hour drive up to Santa Barbara. It's a scenic drive with beautiful views of the ocean!

Train

Amtrak to SBA Station

If traveling from a destination in California, taking the Amtrak train into Santa Barbara is a cost effective alternative to driving and flying.

Hotel

Downtown Santa Barbara Hotels

Please click "VIEW" below to see list of great hotel options in Downtown Santa Barbara. We also recommend looking at TripAdvisor or Expedia to find other hotels in the area. Since SB is a decently small city, as long as you are staying in Santa Barbara or Goleta (the suburb that UCSB is located near) you won't have an issue with taking an Uber/Lyft or walking to either of the venues. Please feel free to reach out to us if you would like any specific recommendations.

House Or Rental

AirBnb or VRBO

Renting an Airbnb or VRBO option near Downtown Santa Barbara would be a great option if you are traveling with a bigger group or simply want a "homier" feel! There are plenty of options to choose from and this is a great alternative to staying in a hotel.

Rental Car

Traveling within Santa Barbara

We recommend using Uber and/or Lyft during your trip (especially if you are partaking in the "adult water"), however driving or renting a car is another option if you feel more comfortable. Please note that parking on Santa Barbara streets can get tricky sometimes due to heavy tourism during the summer. NOTE ON PARKING: There will not be a parking lot available at The Moxi Museum for the ceremony and reception. Guests should expect to walk or Uber/Lyft to the reception (there will be a designated drop-off section outside for the event). You are also free to park in a nearby city-lot, keeping in mind that this can be tricky on the weekend.
