Hiking

Hiking

There’s 8 beautiful trails on the property

Surfing

Surfing

Bosque offers surfing lessons or surfing on your own. You can bring your own board or rent one from the lodge.

Fishing

Fishing

Fishing is possible all year long, but the recommended best season is between November-May (of course this varies depending on what you want to fish for). The fish that are normally caught are marlin, sailfish, tuna, dorado (mahi mahi); and the normal in-shore catches are rooster fish, snapper, and jacks. You can go sport fishing or in-shore fishing, and some of the outfitters offer half day trips in addition to the more traditional full day fishing trips. If you get lucky and get the fish to us in time, we are happy to prepare your catch for dinner!

Waterfall repelling

Waterfall repelling

This is an excellent tour that you will remember for a lifetime. Subject to varying levels of water flow throughout the year; very active tour (guest who do the tour should expect to get completely wet); ages 10+; wear sneakers or Tevas or water shoes; 2-3 hours $75/person with El Remanso $85/person with Everyday Adventures

Snorkeling 🤿

Snorkeling 🤿

We can arrange a snorkeling trip for you; the equipment will be basic and will be provided by the tour operator. Snorkeling is best done around low tide. We think it is a great idea to combine snorkeling with another boating tour, like the Dolphin Watch or the Botanical Garden (Casa Orquideas). Please ask the receptionist about more options to combine this tour. There is no scuba diving in this area of the Osa, however we are happy to help you arrange a day trip to Caño Island, on the other side of the peninsula. $45/person (min. 4 people; does not include cost of taxi ride)

Botanical gardens

Botanical gardens

Visit Casa Orquideas, one of the oldest and most interesting botanical gardens in the Golfo Dulce region. The gardens are accessed by a 20-minute boat ride across the Golfo Dulce from Puerto Jimenez. Once you arrive at the gardens, you will be taken on a 2 hour tour which includes hundreds of different species of tropical plants such as palms, heliconias, orchids, exotic fruit trees, and much more. You will be able to smell and taste exotic fruits you never heard of before, as well as cool off with a refreshing fruit drink. This relaxing and educational tour will leave you in awe of the abundance and beauty of tropical and neotropical plants. This trip includes the price of the boat and the fee for the garden. Please note that the gardens are closed on Fridays and the tour starts at Casa Orquideas at 8:30am sharp. $45/person (minimum 4 people; does not include cost of taxi ride to town; 7:15am pickup in PJ)
