This event is a casual get together the night before the wedding to mingle. Mini golf is a common fun activity within Alden's family that Jackie has grown to love, so we thought it made most sense to include as a pre-wedding activity. Urban Putt is an 11 minute walk from the hotel in Downtown San Jose. We would recommend walking or taking public transit as it is easier than finding parking. The closest parking is ParkSJ (on Second and San Carlos Street Garage; the first 90 min. is free, $10 max on weekends/nights).

Wedding (Ceremony and Reception)

Semi-Formal, Black-Tie Optional: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. This is the time to dress up!
The ceremony and reception will be held at Hakone Estate and Gardens. Both will be outdoors, so a jacket or wrap may be best to bring for the evening. Hakone is one of the oldest Japanese estate, retreat and gardens in the Western Hemisphere, so we encourage you to explore the gardens during the reception. Alden's parents first took us to this garden three years ago when we moved to the Bay Area. As the venue for our wedding, Hakone is a representation of Alden's Japanese culture from his mom's side of the family. We will be coordinating carpooling from the hotel to the venue since parking is limited. You can arrive as early as 4:45pm and enjoy the gardens. Please come hungry! There will be a three-course meal in addition to hors d’ oeuvres.
Ceremony and Photos
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The ceremony will begin at 5:30, so we recommend arriving at 5pm. There will be soft seasonal drinks and champagne before the ceremony. After the ceremony, we will take a group photo and enjoy tray-passed hors d’ oeuvres with more champagne. Aunt Vicky and Cousin Nate will be available to take additional pictures throughout the night.
Dinner
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Seated dinner, French food.
Where Alden's familial culture is captured in the Japanese gardens, Jackie's familial culture is captured in the French food served for dinner. We will be serving a three-course meal. We are not offering meal options, so both fish and steak will be served (with white and red wine available of course!). Please be sure to note in your RSVP if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
After Party

After dinner we encourage you to explore the gardens, continue snacking and mingling, and dance in the indoor area. The event ends at 10pm.
