We're Tying the Knot!

Bridging the gap between "cute person I know from work" and "person I actually spend time with" can be difficult. It can be made simpler, however, if one has headlights that need aligning and is aware that said "cute person" is handy with that sort of thing. Kevin and I started our relationship as coworkers. No one would have guessed we'd be the couple to come out of the incestuous family that was Morley but a request for help with my car changed all that. I am not handy. I am a starter of projects but not a finisher and I am not about to mess with something like car maintenance when I know how my projects usually end. Spoiler: not well. Enter Kevin, deep voice, hazel eyes and the kind of general vehicle knowledge I could only dream of having. Kevin was exactly what my car and I needed. Though I didn't know how much yet. I asked him to come align my headlights for me. It was an innocent request. They had recently been replaced but weren't doing me any favors being aimed down the way they were. Kevin agreed and on a, slightly chilly, February night he spent three hours taking apart the front end of my car. Only to discover he didn't need to do that and then putting it back together. I paid him with a glass of whiskey, which he definitely earned and the rest of the story is as one might expect. Rides in a pickup, LOTR movie marathons, a 500-year flood event and a worldwide pandemic. Through it all Kevin and I were together. For births and deaths, for weddings and birthdays, first tattoos and fishing trips. Kevin and I have enjoyed the last five years together and look forward to many more.
