I first met Adam at his sister's gym, CrossFit Droogs. He was a coach, and this was my first real experience as CrossFit athlete. Yes, I noticed that he was attractive, but I didn't think any deeper into it even when his sister, Mal started asking me what I thought about him. At the same time, she also asked Adam what he thought about me. Since I was going off to school in a few months, neither one of us seriously considered it. For a couple more months, we continued to be around each other at the gym.
Pizza. Even though I was leaving for school in a week, Adam's sister Mal finally convinced him to ask me for pizza. It's casual and harmless... but let's be real, "casual?", I was SO nervous! Once we were together, it was surprisingly natural. Yes, we enjoyed the pizza, but we enjoyed each other so much that we didn't want it to end yet. So we spent hours watching a show and talking and getting to know each other. Little did I know that saying yes to casual pizza would lead to a forever YES.
Adam told me he wanted to take me on a surprise date. I was looking forward to it, because who doesn't love surprise dates? On the way, he told me we were going to the firehouse to take a tour. I thought it would be neat to see the type of place he'd be working one day. The thought popped in my head about him proposing, but I dismissed it since we had just talked about timing days before. There was "no way" it was today. At the firehouse, our friend 'Papa Liv' gave us a tour that ended at the fire pole. After convincing me to slide down even in my dress, Adam slid down first. I slid down after then turned around at the bottom to find Adam on one knee with some of our family and all the firefighters lined up behind him. My immediate response was "YES!" and to hug him when he told me he hadn't asked me yet. Even after he asked, I still said yes.
We can't wait 'til we say "I DO" & celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you soon!
