We matched on Tinder -> Tamás complimented Jack's eyes -> Jack suggested a date the next day. But, after a few dates, we figured out that Tamás' roommate (Jeff) was Jack's Physics II TA and that Jack's roommate (Angi) was Tamás' Physics I student. Small school...

We grabbed lunch at Tamber's, a Baltimore Indian diner. Then, we walked to Hampden, picked up some Charmery ice cream, and walked along Stony Run Creek.

Tamás joined the Van Holland (and Livingood) families for Thanksgiving 2019 in Jackson. He visited the Grand Teton National Park and soon learned the challenge of Jackson's hiking and weather. Jack visited the Vami family and celebrated a belated birthday in their home in Hungary. Jack learned a few Hungarian phrases and explored castles, markets, bridges, and spas. We partied New Year's 2020 with fireworks and friends in Budapest until the next morning!

We moved in a bit earlier than expected. When the pandemic began, we had only been dating for ~6 months. We decided to both isolate with Jack's family in Jackson (thanks Mom and Dad). We all got COVID anyways... But we were able to take a few road trips, visiting national parks like Arches, the Grand Canyon, and Glacier.

We both love traveling, and have been on some wild adventures together! Here are some memorable ones together: - Hang gliding over Rio de Janeiro - Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef - Driving the skinny, precarious Road to Hana in Maui - Visited 2/7 of the man-made and 3/7 of the natural wonders of the world - Stranded in the middle of the Italian countryside on a missed bus connection - Kayaking in a bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico - Caught in a downpour setting up our tent in Canyonlands

In the summer of 2021, Tamás moved in with Jack (for real this time) and his roommates (Angi, Sophie, and Krittika) in a row house in Baltimore. We all studied together, played umpteen board games, bickered about the dishes, and had some drunken nights with lots of laughs.

We celebrated New Year's at a party in Teton Village. Just before midnight, Tamás suggested stepping outside would be more romantic. When the clock struck twelve, while huddling inside a snow sculpture, Tamás asked Jack to spend all the rest of our years together.

We will be taking a week-long road trip through the California National Parks. We will begin our marriage happily relaxing in the nature of the Redwoods, Yosemite, and more.

Our honeymoon roadtrip will end in Santa Barbara, our new home base! Tamás accepted a postdoctoral position in the physics department at UCSB. Jack will continue working remotely as a full-stack developer at Ascend Analytics. We're excited to enjoy the sun, waves, and mountains of southern California! Once we get to know the area, we will be looking to purchase a home or condo for our new married life.
