Where to Stay

We will be reserving room blocks at hotels in the coastal areas near the ceremony. Guests will be able to book these rooms at a discounted rate. Hotel details and booking links will be added here as soon as they are finalized. You are welcome to stay at any hotel, Airbnb, or rental of your choice. If you decide to book your own accommodations, we recommend choosing a place in one of the following areas: • Glyfada • Voula • Vouliagmeni These neighborhoods are closest to the ceremony and are where wedding transportation will depart. If you choose to stay outside of these areas, you may need to arrange your own transportation to and from the shuttle pickup locations on the wedding day.

Flight

Flight Information

Please fly into: Athens International Airport (ATH) Eleftherios Venizelos Airport This is the main airport for Athens and is about 25 to 35 minutes from the hotel areas. Many flights from the United States depart in the evening and arrive in Athens the following morning.

Travel Note

Getting to Your Hotel

After you land, you will go through passport control and baggage claim before exiting the airport. Depending on where you stay, you may be able to take a free shuttle from the airport to your hotel. Check out your hotels website to see what they offer. The easiest way to reach your hotel is by taxi. There is an official taxi line outside the airport. Typical cost: about €35 to €45 Travel time: about 30 minutes Uber is also available in Athens and works the same way as in the United States.

Travel Note

Passports

A valid passport is required for travel to Greece. Your passport should be valid for at least six months after your travel dates. U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short visits.

When to Arrive

We suggest arriving in Greece a minimum of three days before the wedding if possible. International flights arrive the next day after departure, and the wedding will be in the evening and end late at night/early morning. Arriving a few days early will help you enjoy the trip and feel rested for the celebration.

Time Difference

When it is 12:00 p.m. in Chicago, it is 8:00 p.m. in Greece. Because of the time change, most guests feel jet lag for the first couple of days. We recommend giving yourself a little time to adjust before the wedding.
