We met while we were both in college while taking a basic sailing course. Jack already knew how to sail and just needed the course for the credit but I had no clue what I was doing. One day my sailing partner didn't show up for class so I was put in Jack's boat along with his friend who also already knew how to sail. It was the windiest day of the entire semester and eventually the class got canceled, but not before Jack and his friend had me so scared that we were going to capsize that I was hanging on for my life. After we finally got all the boats secured and class was dismissed Jack invited me over to his apartment to hang out for the rest of the day. It was after that day that I wondered if something more was in our future.

Jack and I officially started dating in February of 2020. As we were sitting in his apartment watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off he turned to me and asked me if I wanted to make it official. Of course I said yes and from that day forward we have never looked back. Everyone remembers March of 2020 and all the chaos that followed, but after making it official nothing could break us apart.

On November 27th, Jack decided that we should travel down to Boothbay to go to the Gardens Aglow to see all the Christmas lights that they put up every year. I knew that something was up since he told me that I should look nice and he had me get my nails done earlier in the week. As we were walking through the gardens we stopped under a gazebo to escape the rain and that's where it happened. He got down on one knee and asked me the easiest question that I've ever had to answer in my entire life.
