One of the best hikes around, easy access, and a beautiful viewpoint from the parking lot if you just need a place to picnic!
Artist Point
If you are up for more of a drive, this will not disappoint! Right at the base of mount Baker, this spot has numerous trails, hikes, and viewpoints for exploring and picnicking.
Clayton Beach Trailhead
One of Noa's favorite childhood spots, includes a short hike (~1 mi) through old growth forests, ending on a beach with sandstone cliffs and large rocks for exploring.
Whatcom Falls Park
Park trailhead includes a playground, tennis courts, and bike park - but the park is full of trails through old growth forest and multiple spots for a quick swim and a waterfall view. Also very near Lake Whatcom, another great spot for swimming or a picnic!
Boulevard Park
Local coffee, seaside playground, access to historic Fairhaven, and an ocean boardwalk!
Birch Bay State Park
Beautiful uncrowded beach, sandflats at low tide perfect for sandcastles, long walks, and enjoying the sparkling water!
Downtown Lynden
Local bakeries, coffee shops, bookstores, the historic windmill, flower baskets, and the farmer's market on Saturdays! We especially love Eucatastrophe Coffee for their thrift books and fresh coffee combo.

Fun lunch spot - house made bagels, delicious sandwiches, and right in the middle of Railroad Avenue - great spot to walk around for good eats, fun little stores , and window shopping.
