At least as simple as it gets for a New York City gal and a single father. We met, much to our surprise (and through the intercession of many prayers), through a dating app. There weren’t exactly sparks during our first date at San Antonio mainstay Liberty Bar, but Meg’s characteristically great questions and Jack’s indefatigable positivity led to another date, and another, and another . . . World weary pilgrims, we were surprised and delighted to find in one another not only a kindred soul but someone who became a fast friend and lifelong partner. Bonded by dips at Fairchild Park Pool, home-cooked meals, and many trips to Hemisfair Park with Jack's son Gus, we felt like a family was taking shape. We’ve braved the peaks of Park City and the trains of New York City, trips with the Mitts/Collins family and holidays with the Ritchey/Hoffmann clan—no small feat. Jack (finally) asked Meg to be his wife on March 2, while the two sat with their toes in the Frio River in a special little sanctuary in the Texas hill country. Meg looks forward to taking Jack on many roadtrips to the desert. Jack can’t wait to write Meg more songs. Gus is excited to be a big brother someday. We both are beyond thrilled to celebrate our marriage with you all in August.
