Salado

Salado has SO much to offer. It's such a hub for art, food, activity, and fun. We encourage our guests to explore to their heart's content. Everything else on this list is our personal favorites across Bell County, but you might discover something new to share with us while exploring the village.

Barrow Brewing Company

Barrow's got some delicious brews, and they always have some fun events going on! Their grounds hosts the Salado Farmer's Market Saturdays from 9am-1pm. They're actually going to host the "ASYMCA Village People 5K" the morning of the wedding.

Silvia's Tacos

Best breakfast tacos in Salado! Truck and cash only. The internet is divided on whether it's Sylvia or Silvia, but the truck itself says Silvia, so that's what I'm going with.

Miller's Smokehouse

The bride and groom's favorite Texas barbecue. Unfortunately they recently experienced a fire, so they only have a food truck outside the building open for business right now. Still recommend trying! Otherwise, we haven't been here, but Johnny's in Salado seems to have well rated barbecue.

Salgado's Restaurante

Best tacos in Belton! Drive-through only.

Sly Fox Coffeehouse

The bride's favorite coffee spot in Belton! Get onto their patio, and you'll see the old train car the shop is located in.

Toast & Tea

Great boba and much more! Entrance is on the side of the building.

Blackbird Books & Spirits

A Belton local favorite spot. Blackbird is a bookstore and speakeasy located in the MKT Depot & Katy.

The Commonwealth Texas

Probably the swankiest place in Bell County. This restaurant/cocktail bar is also a pickleball court! Courts need to be reserved ahead.

Rockin' Ramen

Roopa's kitchen Authentic Indian Cuisine

The best Indian food (other than India) is in Temple, TX. I said it. Quite spicy, so beware if you don't typically get spicy food.

Chalk Ridge Falls Park

Great spot for hiking and fishing. Also swimming if you're feeling brave. You'll have a pretty short hike here; unless you're willing to get your shoes wet by walking along the creek.

Miller Springs Nature Center

Great hiking spot! There's a south and a north entrance on either side of the Belton Dam. This place is huge and easy to get lost in. So go early and bring lots of water to avoid heat exhaustion.

Yettie Polk Park

Park your vehicle at Yettie Polk Park and enjoy a lovely walk along the Nolan Creek Trail in Downtown Belton.

Frank's Marina

This is a great place to rent boats and explore Belton Lake.

Temple Lake Park

Pretty good beach and fishing spot. Usually crowded in the summer, and there is an affordable entry fee.
