It was orientation day at Stony Brook University and they're forced to play an icebreaker bingo card game. One of their tasks was to find someone out of hundreds in the room and give them a nickname. Jack and Julia approached one another and introduced themselves. Julia, thinking logically as she does, came up with the nickname "Jack-o-latern" while Jack randomly states "Brownie". Julia laughs and thinks "Why not 'Blondie' if we're going to pick a dessert?" A month and a half goes by, and Jack and Julia don't see one another until they're in the same dorm building meeting when moving into college. A few weeks go by after that of Jack and Julia passing by and smiling to each other around campus and Hamilton Hall, their dorm building. Julia had been dating someone else at the time who didn't like her having male friends, but she kept thinking to herself "That guy seems cool, I want to be his friend!". While Jack had been single at the time (though later dated this girl again for a bit and she did not like Jack having close female friends either), and was thinking to himself "Man, she's really pretty every time I see her walk into the room." Eventually, Julia went with Joanna Siemion to meet Jack in the study areas of Hamilton playing League of Legends with Zach Pablo, his roommate, by his side. Julia offered Jack some fun, minor substance we'll say and Jack accepted, which she then knew Jack could “hang” and they'd make great friends. Jack and Julia go on to be the best of friends that entire freshman year of college doing most things together like staying up until 3am doing Chemistry homework and watching some tv show like Vampire Diaries. Everyone always hinted at Jack and Julia being more, but Julia always laughed it off as a joke unlike Jack who was just waiting for the day Julia would notice and realize. Summer after freshman year when Julia and Jack were apart for the longest they had been since college started, their friendship had changed on so many levels. Jack was in China for an internship and Julia was having a hard time with her then boyfriend and some other concerns where she would FaceTime Jack often about them. Jack and Julia would coordinate times to chat with their 12 hour time difference until returning to school in the Fall of 2018 where they were closer than ever. Once Julia saw Jack this semester, something changed in her heart where she realized she had a crush on Jack. By mid-fall of 2018, Jack finally had his moment he'd been waiting for where Julia broke up with her boyfriend. Woohoo! No time was wasted as Jack and Julia almost immediately started dating then and the rest was history as they both knew they couldn't imagine their lives without one another as forever best friends. Now they've been going over 7 years strong, care for two cats together, Penne and Tito, and are ready for the next chapter of their lives by getting married with all of their favorite people in one space!
